What is Read-A-Thon?

Read-A-Thon is Somerset’s 2nd biggest fundraiser of the year where students and families work hard to reach reading and fundraising goals. Our theme this year was How to Train Your Dragon and it was an amazing year! 


For the first time ever we hit all three of our goals: participation, reading minutes and fundraising! 


Our Classroom winners this year: highest average reading minutes per grade

  • Kindergarten: Ms Redding cookie party sponsored by Bread & Chocolate
  • 1st Grade: Ms Brignac chicken finger party sponsored by Raising Canes
  • 2nd Grade: Ms Gardner popsicle party sponsored by Jonny Pops
  • 3rd Grade:  Ms Thomas donut party sponsored by Puffy Cream Donuts
  • 4th Grade: Ms Dulleman pizza party sponsored by Italian Pie Shoppe Pizza 
  • Highest Participation: 100%! Ms Fangmeiers Kindergarteners

2025 Reading Minutes

Our goal for our Somerset students was to read 300,000 minutes during Read-A-Thon. And our students read 378,226! Way to go Stars! 

2025 Fundraising

We raised $20,902 this year! That is the most we have ever raised for our school during Read-A-Thon! All the money goes right back to the school! 

Funding Breakdown

The money raised goes towards dozens of opportunities for the students and necessary resources for the teachers. The chart shows just a few opportunities and items your donations went towards in previous years.
